The Anoka City Council is composed of a Mayor and four Councilmembers, all of whom are elected at-large. The Mayor and two Councilmembers are elected at each City election, held every even-numbered year. The Mayor presides at City Council meetings and has equal voting rights with the Councilmembers. Anoka maintains 34 park locations and approximately 8 miles of off street trails throughout the parks. Parks are open to the public from 6 am to 11 pm. The best thing about Anoka’s parks, is that no two are the same.

Apr 16, 2024 · Anoka worked closely with State Representative Zack Stephenson who assisted with changing state law exclusively for Anoka. Anoka is hosting a pilot program and will report back to the State on its findings to set an example for Anoka and other cities to implement a social district in the future.
