I still cry about my rejection sometimes, and get really sad, but I am so happy at the school I go to. I felt the same exact way, but now that I’ve lived through it all I’m so happy I didn’t give it all up because of one school.

  5. Dec 27, 2019 · Barnard is a women's college that pays a hefty fee to affiliate with Columbia. It is not the same as actually attending Columbia, though you will get many perks as a Barnard student including campus access, ability to cross-register, and eligibility for athletics, clubs, etc.

  6. barnard is an affiliate college— not necessarily an undergraduate college of columbia like general studies or SEAS. we graduate with a columbia degree, take classes there, wear all the same regalia, you name it. however: certain major departments at CU will not allow barnard students to work for them. barnard students cannot use their meal points (different from swipes) at CU.

  8. Dec 6, 2022 · Barnard isn’t really all women in the sense that there’s no men. Barnard students can join all Columbia U sororities, clubs, activities, sports and more. Barnard students also use all CU libraries, cafeterias, and can live in Columbia dorms if they want to. It’s more of a women’s dorm at Columbia U. It’s not “women only”

The School of General Studies is for returning students who have worked or done something else after high school.
