The King Edward VI Foundation Birmingham is a charitable institution that operates thirteen schools in Birmingham, England. The Foundation was registered as a charity in November 1963 under the name "The Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham".

King Edward’s School was no exception, already providing elementary education for both boys and girls with four schools across Birmingham. In 1883 the Foundation was dramatically expanded with the creation of KEHS and five grammar schools, some of which being solely for the education of girls.
King Edward’s School was the founding school, with the wider Foundation coming together since our establishment in 1552. Foundation schools are now responsible for educating more than 11,000 children and young people in Birmingham – 1 in 10 of the city’s secondary-aged students.
