Lancaster is a bit further out from the city iirc, whereas York is walkable to. Both are very highly regarded universities with a *little* rivalry between them (roses is AWESOME) so either one's a good pick English is quite highly regarded at York but there's a huge range of students here, if you want to know more about the english side of the course pm me (I know a bit about the joint honours ...
Feb 2, 2022 · My eldest had this similar dilemma but for physics/astro physics with the same unis back in 2019. Not the course itself, but have listed what we thought were advantages and disadvantages: 1) York's uni is closer to the city than Lancaster.
Lancaster University is located approximately 3 miles south of Lancaster City Centre. There are regular buses and a walking/cycle path that will take you directly from campus into the city. The City of Lancaster is around 70 miles from Manchester’s International Airport.
Mar 26, 2022 · Eldest applied to both in 2019 for 2020 start, and she did the uniq summer school at Oxford. Shes a second year at Lancaster. Both uni's have their own college porters lodge, both uni's have their own bar.
Apr 13, 2024 · Theres also a lettings agency called 'Lancaster university homes' which is based on campus and can help you find accommodation for your 2nd and 3rd year in town. 3. Lancaster is quite a small city, but there's a good range of cafes, bars and shops, there's usually lots of events happening in town over the weekend to get involved in.
Feb 6, 2024 · Hi Anon, Whilst Lancaster isn't a Russel group university, it is still highly respected, and comes out towards the top of the university league tables each year. Personally, i've loved my time at Lancaster, it feels like a real community of both students and the academic staff, who are always so willing to help and support you.
