"The Elopement" was the 13th and final episode of the second season of Joanie Loves Chachi, also the 17th overall episode and the finale episode of the series. Written by James Patrick Dunne and Millee Taggart, the episode, directed by John Tracy, premiered on ABC-TV on May 24, 1983.
After seeing how much in love Louisa's aunt and uncle are after 50 years of marriage, Joanie and Chachi decide to elope.
