Honest Abe is the 1st episode of Season 7 in the original version of MacGyver.
A temporary security guard uniform steals a prototype stealth helicopter. Elsewhere, MacGyver meets up with his Jewish godson Jeffrey, whose bar mitzvah is being celebrated the following day. Jeffrey's grandfather Abe is coming to town to attend the bar mitzvah, but Jeffery's father Elliott warns Jeffrey not to expect his grandfather to show, recounting how Abe missed attending every major event of his own life (with the sole exception of high school graduation), always providing some ridiculous excuse. Jeffrey entrusts the picking up of his grandfather to MacGyver.
Abe substantiates Elliott's bad word about him from the moment he gets off the bus, mistaking MacGyver for his son. Abe tells MacGyver he has to pick up Jeffrey's present from the post office. He sees a man in a suit, wearing an earpiece, standing guard outside the post office. He asks MacGyver to pick up the packet that is waiting there, addressed to an alias. When MacGyver exits the post office, a man approaches him with a gun and demands he hand the package over. Abe yells at MacGyver to jump in the car. As soon as MacGyver is in, Abe peels out as men shoot through the windows of the car. Once they have made some distance from their pursuers, MacGyver makes Abe pull over and takes the keys from him, demanding to know what is going on.
Although all episodes were supposed to play mainly in California, seasons 3 to 6 were shot in Canada. This is the first episode of season 7 which is filmed again in California. For the first time again you can spot palm trees in the streets.

Abe Sherman is working as a temp security guard at Harding Aeronautics. He breaks into the company's hangar using a security card, puts the top secret set of blueprints for a stealth helicopter in a flight bag, and then steals the helicopter itself.
