May 23, 2024 · A Gladstone bag is a small suitcase that is built around a rigid metal frame and is able to open into two equally sized pieces. Leather is commonly used for the body of the case, and leather lanyards and a clasp are used to tie the pieces together.
Fast forward to today and the Gladstone bag is one which fits an extra pair of shoes, toiletries, diary, keys and all life’s essentials - packed within the frame and its (typically) leather exterior. One day it’s a carry-to-work bag, and another day it’s the perfect travel companion.
