Filth (2013) - The ending...what does it mean? So I just watched Filth, and I'm not sure what to think. Can anyone shed some light on the ending, and what that last line meant? I've searched around and haven't found a satisfying answer. The movie was highly unsettling, but I say this with high praise. James McAvoy was phenomenal.

A mugging goes wrong when a Japanese student is beaten to death by local thugs. On one of his nights dressed as Carole, Bruce witnesses the murder, and the thugs run away. The department is sincerely investigating this only because of the vast media attention the case has been getting.
