  4. Robert Cox found much inspiration for his beautiful floral paintings in California and became one of the most prolific painters of the 1970’s and 1980’s. He used palette knife to create his stylised flowers and was awarded the Brown Hammerson Medal of Honour for services to art in 1986.

  8. Artist Biography. Robert Cox (1934-2001) was born in Mt Holly, New Jersey. Cox studied at the Katharine Gibbs School of Art from 1953 until 1956 and then joined Mayhew Peakes Inc. as a graphic designer. In 1962 he moved to California, where he married Marjorie Cox in 1966.
