This Extra-Añejo is made from single-estate agaves matured to 12 years. Aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 3 years up to 30 years. Aromas of rich oak, fresh coffee, fine cocoa and dried fruit. Flavours of vanilla, toasted almonds and cinnamon with a long finish. Enjoy lightly chilled and neat.
Flavor is sweet and mellow with some heat and spice coming in late. But, as with many aged tequilas, the overwhelming flavor is whiskey. Over the years, I have introduced many whiskey and scotch loving friends to tequila with the Reserva de la Familia. It is always a hit with them.
