Feb 25, 2015 · Here is the list i have come up with so far of unsafe sites for downloading mods: minecraftdl, 9minecraft, 8minecraft, 6minecraft, 5minecraft, 4minecraft, 3minecraft, and 2minecraft. Basically any site that uses a number before minecraft is unsafe, and only use the minecraft forums, planet minecraft, curseforge, or curse.com for download links.

The only places you should be downloading mods from are CurseForge, Modrinth or Github. Supposedly the downloads can contain viruses and it has been proven they don't credit the creators. And to just say it: I'm glad I got over mods and maps before I downloaded a full on invasive malware or virus.
