  2. Thank you so much, 09481! Plastic guard combs are used, but I never learned how good 5-in-1 blades are. I'll buy some recommended clipper from WAHL like Arco. I'll divide grooming into much smaller sessions (it was four legs - body - face) and will also look for medication help!

Washing the dog(s) prior to clipping, keeping the clipper blades well oiled, brushing the hair out of the blades with a toothbrush and storing in a dry case have kept my blades in good condition for a long time.

  4. Jul 2, 2011 · I personally find the #7 a bit short & am more of a fan of a #5- short but not bald looking. #3 is nice because it is short but still a little fluffy. Your clippers most likely came with a #10 blade so a few SOC would be good as well. I have Andis clippers so pretty much stay with Andis blades & found some on sale at Ryan's so bought some.

At least brush off the fur and oil when you use them. A blade cleaner is good to get as well. If you find them dragging a bit during the groom, a quick clean and oil helps a lot.
