Apr 30, 2024 · Subjectively, the Liric II pads offer a slightly softer and smoother feel yet, but this could also be age-related as my Liric unit is around 2 years old now. This makes a good case for Meze’s build quality as my review sample presents as well as day one with few scuffs and wear marks despite years of use including being loaned to other reviewers and enthusiasts.
Jun 29, 2024 · The lower treble follows the same pattern, generally a touch relaxed but with good detail giving the Liric II a sound that is closer to other models in the Meze line-up. While not having quite the detail retrieval or soundstage performance of the Empyrean, the Liric II is now quite similar its overall tonality.
Sep 25, 2024 · The Liric has been criticized for its stock cables that were of average quality for a $2K headphone and didn't include a balanced option. Meze Audio has fixed that by replacing the 1.5m short cable with a 1.3m long, high quality braided Furukawa PCUHD copper cable with a 4.4mm plug. This is a premium and very well made cable that retails for $269.

The LIRIC 2nd Generation now features Macassar ebony wooden ear cups, easily detachable ear pads, an updated driver setup addressing the harsh treble the original LIRIC did, and retains the excellent fit and finish too.
