Dec 3, 2021 · Meze Empyrean (with EQ) [yes, open back, but same driver family as Liric]-> both "tuned" to harman target, but you can hear that the Emyprean is the better headphone overall, it not only sounds more open (again also deeper pads) but offers that grand enjoyment of music experience, but the Liric shares much of that DNA with having its own personality, so its not just a closed-back mini Empyrean.
Feb 23, 2022 · The Meze Audio Liric has a likable but more aggressive sound signature than what Meze Audio fans might be used to coming from the Empyrean and Elite. It gives up a bit in terms of resolution and dynamic range but in return, you get something much more immediate, fun if you like, and an entirely suitable high-end listening experience for portable audio fans.

Sep 25, 2024 · The Liric has been criticized for its stock cables that were of average quality for a $2K headphone and didn't include a balanced option. Meze Audio has fixed that by replacing the 1.5m short cable with a 1.3m long, high quality braided Furukawa PCUHD copper cable with a 4.4mm plug. This is a premium and very well made cable that retails for $269.
