The cats in this mod work a little differently when it comes to their textures. Simply using the command /summon simplycats:cat will NOT work, it will spawn an invisible cat. To get this command to work without spawning a broken cat, you need to include data tags with the command.
On the mod/forge side of things though, there seems to be a lack in this area. Mob Options is the closest thing, but lacks config options. Difficult Life has a difficulty over time function, which is similar, but not what I'm after. Levels just creates some basic "tiers" of mobs with different amounts of health, but doesn't really play well ...

So, to not start a nuclear civil war, we decided to install a mod, that would make us use these guns to defend ourselves, but Lycanites mobs ended up too demanding for some of potato PC's of my friends, so we deleted it ...
