  1. I currently sell life insurance. It definitely can be very lucrative but I have a lot of agents I work with that are struggling to get by. I personally am doing well but I have a very large network. My advice would be to work for a reputable company, there are a lot of MLM’s in life insurance. Reply reply.

  2. Legit insurance companies like Liberty Mutual, State Farm, Progressive, are NOT MLMs and generally have good income and benefits, especially straight out of school. I personally stay away from the sales side of things (because eff working on even partial commission and I happen to HATE trying to upsell), but otherwise love my job.

    • It starts with a pitch. Unlike a traditional business, which likely relies on a human resources department to hire new employees as needed, MLM businesses depend heavily on recruiting by all members.
    • Certain buzzwords are used. MLM businesses tend to use the same phrases and buzzwords to paint a specific picture for potential recruits. Often, these companies sell the dream of leaving the rat race and becoming the CEO of your own company.
    • You get love bombed. Love bombing is a form of manipulation used by toxic romantic partners, narcissists, cults and, you guessed it, MLMs. It might not be obvious it’s happening at first, but love bombing is an effective way to control another person.
    • The business model is unclear. Most job listings are quite clear about what the job entails. After all, these companies are looking for qualified candidates.
  3. The fact that you have to ask should say enough. I have never heard of them. I have worked for a major insurance company for the last 10 years including interacting with other insurance companies on a regular basis. Good job & props to you for researching before your interview - I wish you best of luck & hope they are legit / good company.
