Hoping someone can help me figure out a weird Word behavior that's been present for many versions (macOS): Scenario. I need to format a headline...say bold. I select the whole paragraph and hit the "Bold" button. Word bolds the entire document.

However, you can remove local formatting and apply a 'default' style called Normal via a command either called "Clear Formatting" or 'Clear All' - see Remove Styles from Text in Word - Instructions - TeachUcomp, Inc.
Jul 8, 2017 · 1. You can use style separators as @cnread suggested in the comments. However they require too much effort to apply and manage. For a small document I would suggest using a table with two cells, one with the Heading text and the other with the normal text. Remove the borders and align both cells to the bottom.
