   • Andy Shernoff: Actually, The Dictators didn’t play that much because outside of The Coventry, there weren’t any venues for us to play. In those days every club wanted bands that played covers; if you played the hits on the charts, you had a choice of clubs to play. The Coventry was the rare club that booked bands that played original music.
