The Jotter is my favorite pen, I love the colorful Originals collection, but the plastic of the body is so damn soft that you scratch it with your bare nail during normal use.

The Jotter was completely ingrained into society in the late 50's and 60's and it is cool to see the crazy designs and uses the Parker company came up with.
Feb 3, 2014 · First off, the metal-finished 50th anniversary ones are WONDERFUL if you can score one at a good price. Their other mid-00s production was good, solid, nice colors, good threads. I bet the most recent ones are of lesser quality.
You might end up with a good pen, but for $15-20, I think there are better pens to be had. Modern Parkers just aren't what they used to be, and I've heard very mixed things. For this price, you may wish to consider the following: - Pilot Kakuno. - Pilot Metropolitan. - Pilot Explorer. - TWSBI Go.
You might look around for a Parker IM ballpoint if you're interested in the brand but not sure that the Jotter/Jotter XL body is for you. I see these often for US$20-30, sometimes less on eBay. They are always metal, come in various colors and special edition designs, and are longer, heavier, and wider than the Jotter.
