There are currently five Therapeutic Music training programs accredited by the NSBTM. These programs adhere to the Accreditation Standards which ensure consistent, requisite program curricula and preparation for offering live therapeutic music at the bedside. Music for Healing and Transition Program (MHTP) est. 1994, accredited since 2008.
Benefits to students who attend and graduate from a CAMT-Recognized music therapy education program include: Eligibility for internship. Upon completion of an internship, graduates are eligible to take the CBMT* Exam and after passing this exam, can apply for MTA Certification signifying they are qualified to work in the field and will adhere to the CAMT Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
