We reached out to the creators of both games to learn about how they came to be made and what experience they offer players.

Once you hit LMB, the wrist/aim/nose angle get locked in and you only control the power with your mouse. I'd check out Tiger Woods/PGA tour and explore their putting. They give you a variety of control schemes for putting to let people go either hyper realistic or just aim and push X to putt.
