Jun 18, 2024 · Now, for a little context, Lady Danbury's past becomes pretty important when she and Violet acknowledge the fact she had an affair with Violet's father, Lord Ledger. Advert During Queen Charlotte , this is subtly referenced for the very first time and Netflix viewers have since been left scratching their heads trying to get to the bottom of the interaction.
Violet seemed to always like lady Danbury as well anyway. Violet knows that LD was gardened after becoming a widow. LD shared that with her. Then Violet sees the birthday hat and knows her father was involved with LD. She lets LD know at the tea by showing all of the hats and talking about the memories.
Also Violet knows her mother sucked, I doubt she feels much loyalty to hate Danbury on her behalf for a short romance that Danbury really needed at the time. I really loved that twist. It made Lady D's life so bittersweet and poignant, but also so powerful and eventually so self-made at the same time.
Violet is a middle-aged woman now, and Lady Danbury is older than her. Beyond that, not only are they friends, but they are part of each other's extended families. By this time, Daphne is married to Simon, and they have children. Simon is Lady D's godson. If anything, I appreciated the lack of communication about it.
