If the owner of a weapon trademark believes your game violates their trademark, they have the right to take legal action. “Other games do it, so it’s fine” is never a healthy assumption.
Nov 29, 2015 · Some weapons & manufacturers we had negotiated permission to use exactly (occasionally with some restrictions). Other weapons in the game were given fictionalized names and appearances so they don't exactly match any real-world product. Not unlike Nuka-Cola verus Coca-Cola in Fallout games. ;) \$\endgroup\$ –
Perhaps one of the more well known cases of what you mention is Counterstrike. Counterstrike went from having real weapon names in 1.6 ( since it was a free community-made mod I guess it wasn't as strict ), to being an actual game release with Counter-strike Source, they changed all the weapon names to fake names (*edit, they also did this with the retail non-mod version of 1.6).

However, sooner or later, you will get a pop-up asking for your login info as a “security measure”. You know where this is going, right? The pop-up was fake, and the game was only there to grab your login info.

On Discord, it looked identical to a regular Roblox link, but when clicked on, it takes you to a completely different website which looked like Roblox, but in reality, was a phishing site.
