   • Chemistry course opens doors, not closes them. You're competitive with people who have done business degrees, you're competitive with people who have done law (tldr on that is it's easier to teach a chemist law, than to teach a lawyer chemistry, again especially so for patent law).

   Should I get a chemistry PhD or Cheme?

   • If you want to maximize safety go into chemical engineering, double-major or minor in chemistry, then get a chem PhD. If you want to maximize money, go into chemE. Although, chemE will be significantly harder and will cover topics you may not find as interesting in the name of practicality, I worked in the chemical shipping industry for 2 years.

   What can you do with a degree in chemistry?

   • You might work with various spectrometers, looking at molecular properties or you could be looking at particles and powder flow or even carrying out hazard testing and suitability assessments. You've also got academia which arguably gives you the most freedom to do anything but is an entirely different beast. As for which university you go to?

   • Chemistry knowledge will be useful here if you work on a chemistry journal. Also a related and better paid field that a lot of editors end up moving into is medical writing/comms. Basically you write favourable papers for pharma companies and get them published. Whatever you want to be honest.
