Apr 22, 2011 · Once above 100-110* then its ok to drive down the road, albeit easily, and then the engine is more efficient at warming up, because it does take heat to warm the truck up and not enough heat is generated from idling to warm it up to 180* for at least a half hour (in cold temps that is). 2020 F250 Platinum Ultimate.

Now my 6L is a little cranky especially on 15-40 oil. A few times below 20 I had to cycle the key twice and let the glow plugs warm 40 seconds or so. With 5-40 oil it fires in cold fine.
Jan 8, 2017 · Engine oil temp is 32 degrees. Let idle. In 11 minutes, 85 degrees. In 30 minutes, 118 degrees. In 45 minutes, 127 degrees. In 1 hour, 131 degrees. It levels out at 130 degrees and never gets any warmer (at idle). After letting truck warm up to 85 degrees, drove it for 15-20 minutes. Engine oil got up to 150 degrees.
Dec 7, 2005 · Seriously, leaving your truck plugged in for 3 days @ -20F is not going to accomplish anything for the truck that plugging in for 4 hours is not going to accomplish. There is nothing mysterious about the block heater. It is a simple heating element. It has no moving parts to circulate fluid or for any other purpose.

The best mod loader is Fabric so just go with that. NeoForge is just a CPR being done on Forge to keep the dead horse kicking and Quilt is not getting the same amount of traction that Fabric is getting. Just a Heads up, there was never "Only Forge", but nobody remembers LiteLoader.
