In Manitoba, you can have your tests done anywhere you would like. Your doctor may suggest a particular place, but you can go to a different location if it is more convenient for you. Just make sure to bring the requisition form your doctor provided to whatever facility you choose.
With over 80 points of access, we are proud to be Manitoba’s leading provider of public laboratory, diagnostic imaging and non-invasive cardiac testing services that enable physicians to make diagnoses and treatment decisions for Manitobans. For a complete list of our sites, please visit Locations.
Patients can request their results directly from their referring Physician. Many types of tests require preparation. Please download and check the list for the preparation required for your testing. To reach a diagnostic imaging representative, please call 204-632-3241 or fax 204-694-9323.
If a scan needs to be done immediately (within the next day or two) then the physician would mark off "emergent" and speak with a radiologist directly to arrange it. Scans marked as urgent without discussion with the radiologist may be a couple weeks or even well over a month depending on how it is triaged.
A doctor who specializes in x-rays, called a radiologist, usually reviews the x-ray and sends a report of his or her findings to your doctor, who can explain the results to you. In emergency situations such as broken bones, the x-ray is viewed immediately by the emergency doctor so they can begin treating the injury or problem.
