For Rural clinicians – US & CT tests in NRHA, IERHA, SHSS or PMH: Direct requisition to site of choice. For tests in Winnipeg: Central Intake. Note: after consultation with a radiologist, emergent requests must go to a specific site, not through Central Intake.
In Manitoba, you can have your tests done anywhere you would like. Your doctor may suggest a particular place, but you can go to a different location if it is more convenient for you. Just make sure to bring the requisition form your doctor provided to whatever facility you choose.
A doctor who specializes in x-rays, called a radiologist, usually reviews the x-ray and sends a report of his or her findings to your doctor, who can explain the results to you. In emergency situations such as broken bones, the x-ray is viewed immediately by the emergency doctor so they can begin treating the injury or problem.
Diagnostic imaging, also called medical imaging, refers to tests health professionals can use to look inside the human body to help diagnose your health. We offer angiography, bone density, CT scan, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and X-ray services in our department:
Monday to Friday - 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Appointments can only be booked upon referral from a clinician. SATURDAY appointments available. EMAIL US. CLICK HERE.
