Mar 17, 2011 · On the tour of RPI, my guide mentioned a 5-year masters program. What I would like to know, however, is if an accelerated masters program could be paired with a dual major. For example, could I potentially receive two masters degrees in 5 years? Could I receive a bachelors for one major and a masters for the other?

Dual major: can double-count core classes. So Medicine & Society (2000-level STS class) would count for your HASS core, while Principles of Ecology (4000-level bio class) would count for your science core.
However, at RPI it’s very easy to add or remove dual majors. At other schools it’s a big deal, here it’s just a sheet of paper and a meeting with an advisor. On the flip side, do not do a double major!
