Last I heard liteloader is buggy with Forge, specifically if any Forge mod uses a registry replacement (uncommon, but a handful of mods use them) it can cause liteloader to crash. FTB makes entire modpacks that already include forge and the old FTB launcher or the twitch app take care of installing them.

Mar 23, 2014 · The thing is I had both Forge and Liteloader working in 1.6.2 and it wasn't until I added an armor mod that the 'tweakclass' problem came up. So, I just assumed it was an MMC problem this time because I hadn't added that armor mod yet.
