Feb 10, 2015 · To adhere the wood to the mirror, I used a liquid nail product that is specifically designed for mirrors. I mitered the corners with my miter saw, but you could get Home Depot to cut your boards to size and just do a straight cut in corners if you don’t have a miter saw.
- Measure your mirror you wish to trim out. You need to get the overall length, but add 1/2 the width of the board on to the dimensions. This will eventually be mitered, so you want to make sure you have enough overlap to make sure it looks good.
- Get your boards. If you bought good boards that won’t move much, then you should be in a good starting point. Cut the boards to an appropriate length and then set them in your home to acclimate for about a week.
- Prepare the surface of the boards. After the boards are dry, sand or plane them down to give a good yet rustic finish. I prefer a hand plane because I can minimize any cupping or crooking.
- Stain your boards. We my wife chose Puritan Pine for this project. It provides a nice subtle brown color and isn’t too overpowering like Walnut.
Dec 4, 2012 · Putting a dressed up frame around a plain builder mirror is one of the easiest ways to upgrade a bathroom, especially if you’re working with the tile and not doing a total gut job (which we thankfully are in this room since the classic b&w tile is in great shape).
Adding a DIY frame to your mirror offers decorative appeal to an otherwise basic element of your bathroom. Inexpensive and easy to assemble, wood trim moulding forms a classic border design. Sanding and adding a coat of paint to your frame ensures a classic and professional finish.

Dec 9, 2023 · Installing trim around a bathroom vanity is a relatively simple process. Start by measuring and cutting the trim pieces to fit the sides and top of the vanity. Then, use a brad nailer or finish nails to secure the trim to the vanity. Be sure to use wood glue or construction adhesive along the edges of the vanity for added stability.
