- I'm sorry but the only way to do this is by using a mod, you can't do that in normal minecraft without being constantly on creative mode. I recommend you using a mod called Single Player Commands (Link on the bottom). There just use the command "mobdamage" (without quotation marks).

Apr 28, 2013 · If you have cheats enabled, you can do the following: Make sure the difficulty is set to Easy or higher. Type in the command: /gamerule doMobSpawning false. (This is case sensitive!) Now monsters will no longer spawn, but you will still get hungry.
While still fighing mobs often, I have now chests full of leftover food just by planting a few dozen wheat crops which I don't even automate, I just harvest them once in a while. Because the hunger mechanics are really that forgiving.
Oct 17, 2016 · It's been a while, but I believe if you play on "Peaceful" difficulty, no hostile mobs will spawn. Pigs and sheep etc. will still spawn however. Additionally, while you can't die of starvation in peaceful, you still can lose health if you don't eat regularly enough.
Paste the following between the brackets: {. "hostile": true, "dimension": "minecraft:overworld", "when": "onjoin", "result": "deny". } If you also want to block hostile mobs from spawning in the Nether & Overworld, add "minecraft:nether", "minecraft:end" into the dimension line.
In Hard mode, hostile mobs will spawn and deal more damage than Normal mode. Mobs can cause you harmful status effects such as Poison or the Wither effect.
