There's no need at all to do that. Just install Prismcraft, run the launcher on game mode, select from the community the controller layout and you can use any control to Steam Deck. Performance wise running Minecraft on Game mode instead the desktop mode means you gain increased performance. I have 350 mods on 1.12.2 at Steam deck.
