Background: This is the production company of producer/director/screenwriter Roland Emmerich.
1998-2008
Logo: The camera slides by the side of a flying zeppelin, which heads towards a large city at the horizon. Two more zeppelins float above, while a plane flies by the camera. Searchlights beam from the city. The city is then outlined into a rectangle, and the words, "CENTROPOLIS ENTERTAINMENT" with "ENTERTAINMENT" under "CENTROPOLIS", zoom in below the picture. Variant: On the trailer for The Patriot, the picture was grayscale and the green color in the name more mild. FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: The animation of flying transports and lights, a bit outdated for now, but still great-looking. Music/Sounds: An orchestral fanfare (composed by David Arnold) with the sounds of transport motors passing by. Availability: Common. It can be seen on films like Godzilla, The Thirteenth Floor, The Patriot, and 10,000 BC. This doesn't appear on The Day After Tomorrow, and after 10,000 BC the logo was fully retired. Editor's Note: None.
2016-present
Logo: The logo animates like the previous logo concept, but the differences are the color is tinted gold and one plane goes toward differently. "C E N T R O P O L I S" fades and turns in usually, but in a different font. After a while, the picture zooms out to be enclosed in the black background, while "C E N T R O P O L I S" spreads in to fit the length of "E N T E R T A I N M E N T" (also in the different font), which fades in. FX/SFX: The animation is still great-looking, but it seems that they didn't make much of an improvement. Music/Sounds: The opening theme to the film. Availability: Current. Debuted on Independence Day: Resurgence and later appeared on Midway. Editor's Note': None.
