  5. May 23, 2024 · The park idea began in 2021, when Edmond businessman and philanthropist Hal French purchased 62 acres of land on the northwest corner of East 2nd Street and North Coltrane Road. French wanted to develop this land into a park, which would feature over 30 public art sculptures owned by the city and also included a new Art and Event Center, a playground, a dog park and restaurant sites.
