   • Yates and Kuiper had originally approached Huron County Council for the project on a non-profit basis, hoping to cover costs and then return any profits to the county.    How many Wingham men were killed?

   • In 1945, a bronze tablet bearing the names of 12 Wingham men killed in the Second World War was added to the monument. A stone tablet commemorating the Korean War 1950-53 was later appended to the monument. Most recently, the name of Corporal Matthew Dinning who was killed in Afghanistan in 2006 has been inscribed into the monument’s east face.
