May 17, 2017 · The Nanaimo Child Development Centre traces its roots to 1967 when it was originally called the Nanaimo Neurological and Cerebral Palsy Association and operated out of a small house on Estevan Road. By the mid-1970s, the association moved into its current location and had adopted its current name, providing services to patients across the mid-Island region, according to Massey.
The Supported Child Development Program consults to inclusive child care programs for children from birth to twelve years of age. Note: Services for children 13-19 are available on an exception basis and based on available funds. Families can self-refer and childcare programs can make referrals to the Nanaimo SCD Program.

The Nanaimo Child Development Centre (NCDC) is a community-based, non-profit organization that has been an integral part of the community since 1967. Our mandate is to provide individualized services for children with developmental needs, from birth to age 19, and their families that promote optimum child development.
