What happened to the physical body of Jesus Christ after He ascended into heaven? Are we to believe that He physically and spiritually ascended into heaven?

Death is something that none of us really understands until it happens. Our hearts and brains have stopped functioning, and our physical bodies no longer sense the world around us. Our spirit has departed and our bodies are left. What happens next is too late to change. It is either good or bad. Some will end up in heaven and others in hell.

Every man and woman will have a new body some day in the future. Some day God will give us transformed bodies. These new bodies will join our spirits. The apostle Paul tells us this in the following passage. What a wonderful future for those who are Christians! We will have fun in the earthly kingdom and in heaven. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

  2. Jan 4, 2022 · Answer. The physical, bodily resurrection of Jesus is foundational to Christian doctrine and our hope of heaven. Because Jesus rose from the dead with a physical body, every Christian has the guarantee of his own bodily resurrection (John 5:21, 28; Romans 8:23).

  3. May 26, 2004 · Moreover, that Jesus had essentially the same physical body after His resurrection that He had when He died on the cross, is evident from at least three different passages. In Luke 24:39 Jesus stated: “Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself.

  4. Aug 5, 2019 · Jesus was not dead, but only unconscious when they laid him in the tomb. He awoke, removed the stone, overcame the soldiers, and vanished from history after a few meetings with his disciples in which he convinced them he was risen from the dead.

  5. If we take it as a given that His resurrected body was the same as His earthly body, then no, that was not the same "body" that He has now. According to 1 Cor. 15 He would now be in a "spiritual body", which would be different than a "natural body" (i.e. of flesh and blood.)

  7. Sep 7, 2013 · The biblical evidence clearly supports the view that Jesus had a real, physical body after His resurrection. The empty tomb, His post-resurrection appearances, and the testimony of the apostles all affirm the physicality of His resurrection.
