What happened to the physical body of Jesus Christ after He ascended into heaven? Are we to believe that He physically and spiritually ascended into heaven?

Death is something that none of us really understands until it happens. Our hearts and brains have stopped functioning, and our physical bodies no longer sense the world around us. Our spirit has departed and our bodies are left. What happens next is too late to change. It is either good or bad. Some will end up in heaven and others in hell.

Every man and woman will have a new body some day in the future. Some day God will give us transformed bodies. These new bodies will join our spirits. The apostle Paul tells us this in the following passage. What a wonderful future for those who are Christians! We will have fun in the earthly kingdom and in heaven. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

  2. May 26, 2004 · Considering Jesus’ clothes were taken from Him when He was crucified (John 19:23-24), and that the linen cloths which were used in His burial were lying in the tomb (John 20:6-7), Jesus likely was wearing clothes that made His exact identity less conspicuous at first glance.

  3. What Were the Differences between Jesus’ Body before and after His Resurrection? The resurrected body that Jesus Christ possessed, though like His pre-resurrection body, was in some aspects different. Indeed, Jesus’ new body had abilities the previous one either did not have or did not demonstrate.

  4. The Bible’s answer. The Bible says that Jesus “was put to death in the flesh but made alive [resurrected] in the spirit.” — 1 Peter 3: 18; Acts 13:34; 1 Corinthians 15:45; 2 Corinthians 5: 16. Jesus’ own words showed that he would not be resurrected with his flesh-and-blood body.

  5. If we take it as a given that His resurrected body was the same as His earthly body, then no, that was not the same "body" that He has now. According to 1 Cor. 15 He would now be in a "spiritual body", which would be different than a "natural body" (i.e. of flesh and blood.)

  7. This reveals that Jesus spoke a language. He was visible to the naked eye and He was not just a spirit, but He had a physical body. Many speculate that Jesus’ skin color was olive colored, white, black or brown, but the Bible never describes Jesus’ skin color while He had the form of a human man living on earth.
