  1. Jan 4, 2022 · Jesus is still human, and He has a human body in heaven right now. His body is different, however; earthly human flesh is perishable, but heavenly bodies are imperishable (1 Corinthians 15:50). Jesus has a physical body, with a difference. His resurrected body is designed with eternity in view.

  2. The transfiguration on the mount, the view of Christ in many prophecies including in Revelation, and Paul’s meeting with him under a blinding light, all confirm that his body appears nothing like the one He rose with. However, this does not mean Jesus does not now have a human body.

  3. May 26, 2004 · It’s as though He had a different body”—and possibly one that was not physical. At the outset, it is incorrect to assert that “nobody recognized Him,” because Matthew 28:9,17 clearly implies that at least some of Jesus’ disciples knew Who He was and worshipped Him.

What happened to the physical body of Jesus Christ after He ascended into heaven? Are we to believe that He physically and spiritually ascended into heaven?

Death is something that none of us really understands until it happens. Our hearts and brains have stopped functioning, and our physical bodies no longer sense the world around us. Our spirit has departed and our bodies are left. What happens next is too late to change. It is either good or bad. Some will end up in heaven and others in hell.

Every man and woman will have a new body some day in the future. Some day God will give us transformed bodies. These new bodies will join our spirits. The apostle Paul tells us this in the following passage. What a wonderful future for those who are Christians! We will have fun in the earthly kingdom and in heaven. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

  4. May 7, 2022 · Scripture speaks of Jesus spiritually pre-existing his human birth, but not in terms of created flesh and blood. John’s Gospel tells us that Christ became, or was made, flesh—the Creator becoming part of the creation.

  5. Jesus has a physical body in heaven, but it is different than the bodies we have now on earth. It is important that we understand that Jesus was born a human, had a human body like ours, and was killed. He was buried and then, three days later, physically rose from the dead.

  7. The resurrected body of Jesus is not a normal human body, it is a glorified body. Jesus was able to enter locked rooms (Jn. 20:19), disappear from sight (Lk. 24:31), appear in a “different form” (Mk. 16:12), and ascend into the sky (Acts 1:9).
