   Even the multi-carts that come with the 2600+ and the new paddles set work on original consoles. You have to flip dip switches on those carts to switch to the correct bank to play the game you want. This was all confirmed by one of the guys on the 2600+ production team who has been very vocal on Atari Age forums.

   Many 7800 carts don't work. Probably some of this will be fixed with software updates. Currently no way to play two-button 7800 games, but they've announced that a new 2-button 7800 controller is coming, so that will apparently be fixed. The 2600+ does actually work with the Harmony Cart if you just load one game on the card and don't use the menu.

   From my experience the backbit works best on the Atari 2600 (doesn't play all file formats equally well on the Atari 800) and allows easy return to the main menu with a button on the top of the cart and that allows you to easily switch between games without turning the Atari off. It does play homebrews as well. Just something to consider.

   Nov 22, 2023 · No surprise, but most of the flash carts out there are NOT going to work with the 2600+. That said, I can confirm that the Dragon Fly 7800 flash cartridge does work! As the DF cart loads the game up outside of the console, the 2600+ is able to read the DF like a normal game and just loads up the game that the DF has loaded into RAM at that time.
