The Invisibility Cloak is supposedly able to hide the wearer from Death himself and yet Dumbledore just looked right into their eyes like the cloak wasn't there. I can't think how he was able to do that.
Harry and his friends rush to find Dumbledore to tell him this news, but they run into McGonagall, who informs them that Dumbledore has been called off to London by the Ministry of Magic. Harry convinces Hermione and Ron that they need to grab the stone that night.
After hearing this information, Harry, Ron, and Hermione bolt inside, figuring that Snape or Voldemort must have been the hooded stranger. When they see Professor McGonagall, they ask to see Professor Dumbledore. McGonagall reveals that he left ten minutes prior to fly to the Ministry of Magic on urgent business.
Ron sees the back of Harry’s hand, and Harry finally tells him the truth about detention. Ron suggests that he tell Dumbledore, but Harry refuses. At his final detention on Friday, Harry strains to watch Ron’s Keeper tryout from the window.
Harry sees Dumbledore, beaming, standing next to Professor McGonagall, hyperventilating, by the fireplace. Fawkes flies past Harry to land on Dumbledore’s shoulder. Mrs. Weasley embraces Harry and Ron, excited that they saved Ginny, and wanting to know how they did it. McGonagall adds that they would all like to know that.
