Dec 2, 2011 · 38. History of Magic and Muggle Studies are both indeed non-magical classes. History of Magic is probably more immersed in the study of magical topics than is Muggle Studies. Astronomy is another discipline taught at Hogwart which straddles the magical/Muggle worlds. Study of the stars.

Though these are far from ordinary… each involve a practical and written test for every subject. All students take the O.W.L. exam for both their compulsory subjects and chosen optional subjects.
Arthur doesn't understand even basic aerodynamics of a plane and has no idea how they stay in the air without magic. English is covered since most classes involve essays. They are probably taught basic math at home before 11. Purebloods are homeschooled (unless there are wizard/witch schools before Hogwarts).

I think that those skills are covered indirectly by other classes. Potions will involve maths, history will involve writing papers, etc. Astronomy also involves a lot of math (angles of planets, orbits, etc). I imagine that they get higher level courses as the years progress but probably not their first year in Hogwarts.
