Definition of first aid
First aid is the one-time treatment or care and any follow-up visit(s) for observation purposes only. First aid includes, but is not limited to: 1. cleaning minor cuts, scrapes, or scratches 2. treating a minor burn 3. applying bandages and/or dressings 4. applying a cold compress, cold pack, or ice bag 5. applying a splint, or 6. changing a bandage or a dressing after a follow-up observation visit.
