  3. Jul 22, 2016 · Re: Vapor Lock Issues. Next time try only cooling the carb. Since it is close to the exhaust and has the largest reservoir of fuel in it you will probably find you fix the problem just about as fast. Your car should have a heat shield between the exhaust and the carb.

  4. Apr 28, 2001 · Leroy, easiest thing to do is wrap fuel line in heavy type aluminum foil. Best solution would be to install metal line. The black rubber is absorbing heat, giving you the vapor lock. You might also fabricate a metal shield around pump, to help keep it cool. Pay special attention where it routes close to exhaust system.
