I still think it isn't vapor lock--with vapor lock, fuel flow is reduced or eliminated, and the car runs for a while on what's left in the float bowls, then starts sputtering and dies. If the engine is running fine and then dies suddenly, that's almost always electrical.

Jul 22, 2016 · Re: Vapor Lock Issues. Next time try only cooling the carb. Since it is close to the exhaust and has the largest reservoir of fuel in it you will probably find you fix the problem just about as fast. Your car should have a heat shield between the exhaust and the carb.

The first is the fuel line is down between the cylinders near the base of the cylinders and either sits on the crankcase or touches a cylinder.
