Make sure to connect to the in not out coaxial on the back of the VCR. Next connect a standard composite cable (one of those cables that have the yellow, white,red wires ) to the back of the VCR.

I was going to hook up a 2600 at work for lunch breaks but the TVs we have only support these two inputs. I've looked around the web and haven't found a good solution thus far.   6. Oct 26, 2018 · To connect an Atari to modern TV sets, you can use an adapter that converts the TV’s F connector to an RCA connector. Any CRT TV with a round F connector will work. LCD/LED TVs will work as long as they have an analog tuner. So maybe we should say modern ish TVs, but all of these are much newer than the console.

  8. The output of the Atari 2600 is RF, not composite. Your RCA to HDMI adapter is expecting composite input (separate connections for video and audio). +1 on the VCR. I found that the RF inputs modern TVs (when they have them) aren't as well-shielded as they used to be. The 2600 will work, but the signal will be noisy.
