May 26, 2007 · 5,383. Jan 21, 2024. #5. Costco gas is a high-quality, Top Tier fuel. There is no need to use a cleaner unless you know your injectors are dirty or somewhat clogged. And if that's the case, maybe removal and a professional cleaning would be a better choice.
So, even though the fuel usually cleans the injectors on its own, dirty fuel lines and filter can add to the problem. The dirt and grime in there can be carried to your injectors and accumulate there, affecting your engine. I usually clean my injectors every 5000 miles or so. But, it is just preventive.

Apr 17, 2006 · At the Costco Business Center I have seen both the FI cleaner and the fuel system cleaner which is more expensive (and concentrated). Pretty sure it was Techron. I used to use it on occasion until I switched to regular use of FP60/3000 which has indeed resulted in no need to run the Techron through (at least so far, roughly 50K miles on FP).

Just wanted to pass along that my local costco had the regular sized bottles of techron injector/ fuel system cleaner the other day, 6 in a box for 12 bucks. Same stuff as the BMW fuel system cleaner which is usually around $20 a bottle.
