   I use Amsoil fuel additives and they actually work unlike others I've tried like seafoam, Howes,etc from the parts store. Most products are a waste of money but Amsoil is not. Once a month isn't overkill. It all depends on how much you drive. And people saying you don't need it, don't know jack about fuel and how bad most of it is.

   • A lot of the other ones (seafoam for example) are just solvents like naphtha or whatever else they use. Not that a good solvent can't also clean injectors but word on the street is that Techron is where it's at for consumer products. Wait until it goes on sale at your local auto parts store.

   Which fuel injector cleaner is best?

   • Good fuel injector cleaner is Chevron Techron or even better is Redline. The important ingredient is PEA and those have the most. Redline has 50% and Techron has 30% if I remember correctly. Someone here posted a test that showed how much PEA was in each brand, sadly forgot to save the link to it. Maybe they will chime in here if they see it.

   • While it is good for the fuel injectors once in a while. I would say twice a year or so to also remove moisture with big temp swings like spring and fall. Just make sure to use it about two tanks of gas BEFORE an oil change. You don't want that stuff in your oil, so it is good to run a tank with the cleaner.
