TL;DR : When grocery stores run out of advertised items, ask for a raincheck and save your money. I thought I would post this since this was a totally foreign concept I recently explained to my SO (who is natively from South America, where these do not exist) and I thought some New Canadians and/or foreign students might benefit.
What stores offer rain checks to your knowledge and if so do they have stipulations? My RCSS will not issue a rain check on an item that is on sale, but not in their flyer for example. So no rain checks on in-store sales (I'm not talking about clearance, just unadvertised sales).
Some stores, like Safeway will say “supply limited” on sale prices no so they don’t have to give you a rain check. But some clerks still will. Reply reply
