TL;DR : When grocery stores run out of advertised items, ask for a raincheck and save your money. I thought I would post this since this was a totally foreign concept I recently explained to my SO (who is natively from South America, where these do not exist) and I thought some New Canadians and/or foreign students might benefit.
Here is a list of stores across Canada That Provide Rainchecks! If something is out of stock (on sale in a flyer) you can ask the store to give you a raincheck so you can come back and purchase it when it’s in stock. Rainchecks are usually good for 30 days.
